I mean he IS an a-hole. That was clear in the series and clear in your story. However, you manage to weave it in such a way as it becomes just parcel for a man of his time. That one from 1778(?) would have concepts of entitlement and behavior that we might find completely hideous. These WL stories have really been the definitive read for me. Bravo!
